Protagonist of my Coming of Age Novel and Me

In "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie,  its a story about an Indian (Native American) boy who doesn't fit in with his society. He doesn't fit in, because he has an extremely large head and he is very skinny and small ; tough like the other Indians in his reservation. He also doesn't fit in, because he is extremely poor.
I could kind of connect to him, because sometimes people make fun of me. They make fun of me, because I am Muslim, they sometimes call me terrorist or Osama; but I don't care what they say I love my religion and I want to be the person I am. I know its not true.
I would like to suggest this to the protagonist in this book, because he cares about what people say, he doesn't care about anything else.

Coming of Age Novel ( Bildungsroman )

I am reading A True Story of an Indian by Sherman Alexie . In this book the protagonist is an Indian who is having a really hard time in life. His family is poor, he hardly has any friends and he has some problems from when he was born. He is a boy who is 14 years-old. He is finding out that his family is poor. For example, is best friend his dog was ill, and he asked his parents if they could take him to the vet. His mom said the dog will be fine. But the boy knew that she was  lying asked again, and she says that they don't have the money to talk the dog to the vet, so his father killed the dog. The dog was his only best friend. I am up to the part when he is back at school and everyone hates him, because he is Indian. This book shows a lot about coming of age.

Oh no Dino TIIIIIMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

   Essay:
Source: http://www.timeforkids.com/news/fuzzy-was-he/35321

I never knew a lot about the tyrannosaurus's relatives before. After
reading this article I learned some crazy facts that are really interesting.
I learned how the tyrannosaurus had some weird family members, that
won't make you feel like their from the same family.
One reason, how the T-rex's family is weird is because recently scientists
found these new fossils that show marks of the feathers. Scientists said that
these fossils prove that T-rex's actually had feathers. So they actually do have a
soft side to the aggressive beasts. I never knew that a furious beast like them coud have feathers.
Another reason,  how the T-rex's family is weird because, they are supposed to
be the strongest kind of dinosaurs, but most scientists think that the T-rex wasn't
that dangerous, because of the feathers. Even though they seem to be carnivores, because of there sharp
teeth.
I never knew that the T-rex family was actually soft and not so dangerous. The family seems weird.
I can't believe they had feathers. So weird.

plagiarizing

The student in ms.galangs blog post was plagiarizing, because it wasn't
making sense, the post was referring to the 1900's at one point but how
can a student in this generation be from the 1900's. Also in the beginning
of the post the language of the post wasn't so exotic, but later on the post had
harder language to be said out of a students mouth.
The blog post that the student plagiarized  on was referring to the Starry Night
painting by Vincent Van Gogh. I found out this because, it was describing the Starry
Night picture, it had a church at the stars and a small town in the middle of the immigration
era.
Ways to stay away from plagiarizing is not to copy and paste things from other websites.
If you are going to copy and paste something   you should leave a source and information
from were you got this from, so your not talking all the credit. You should also highlight the others name.
These were three ways to stay away from plagiarizing.

Spring break hw

I really liked Gabriela's blog post and Gaudalupe's blog post. I like Gabriela's blog post on Much Ado about Nothing, because she explains a lot about how she feels about the show and what she understood and what she didn't understand. She also didn't summarize.
I  liked Gaudalupe's because she wrote a blog post about a series. I liked the way she said how her theory was wrong, about the next linger book is going to be about the opposite story of the linger book. I liked the way she was being so specific in her blog. She underlined the title and the series.
Next time when I write my blog I am going to be more specific and I am not going to summarize. I am also going to underline the title of the book and the author. I am also going to explain my thoughts and theories.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I have just finished Harry Potter 4
And in this book all the dark evil is rising. The strongest evil
has came back, Lord Voldemort. He has come back to kill
Harry Potter. I really like the 5th book in the Harry Potter series,
because there is so much action, there is this contest were four wizards will be
chosen to play in. So there were 3 big challenges and only
magicians can pass these challenges. The first one is that the  challengers
have to fight a dragon. The 2nd match is to save your friends from dying underwater
and you have to get passed these monsters underwater that can suck out all your air from your
body. The last challenge is to go through a challenging maze and you need your wand.
Who ever gets out of the maze first they win the Goblet of fire. This book has a bunch of action.

Much Ado About Nothing- Play trip

This is a play written by William Shakespeare. When our class went to the trip
we saw how the actors act and on what surface. They had a little stage, were the
whole play happened, it was a 90 min play.
I really enjoyed that play, because the characters were all funny and there was a
lot of love and arguing. I liked how the actors used the whole stage and the theater.
There was a lot of rebellion within some characters. In this play there was music
and it wasn't some music from an mp3, it was real music, they had there own band.
I also liked how the actors made you feel like you are watching a movie and you would
feel like you left the stage. I liked how when it would turn night on the stage, they would
movie a big prop and glare light on it to make it to the moon.
 This play was really amazing.

Shakespeare so far

Dear Friend,
I am reading Romeo and Juliet, and so far this book is interesting.
Some observations I have made is that in the beginning of the book
they start out with a bunch of fighting scenes. The beginning scene starts out
in the Capulet house. This book has character that are really wealthy.

So far also the beginning is cool but it has a lot of articulated words. The words are really confusing.
The story line is good but also a little confusing, because the expressions are also confusing for example there is this expression about "Sir are you biting your own thumb." I didn't really understand what this meant.
I have a feeling that this book is going to have a bunch of twists.

Dreams b langston hughes summary

 Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Langston Hughes
This poem is about dreams, obviously, it shows how dreams can be forgotten, and when you lose your dreams you can be in big trouble. This poem shows that you should stick to your dreams and never give them up. You have to be determined. I liked this poem, because of this reason that it explains what dreams mean to a person. I liked how the poet compared dreams dying to a broken winged bird. He also compared the poem  to snow and the cold. I really thought this poem was interesting.

What is a poem?

Poetry is like a bird singing
under the falling sky. The bird is
showing it's feelings with no one
to stop it. Poetry is like birds flying
together, Poetry shows freedom and brings unison.

Dead Dream Poem

What Happens to a Dead Dream?

Does it get buried in a grave, or does it
have a heart attack like an average citizen?
Does it have a soul, or does it have a future?
Maybe it just disappears into the night sky
like a white feather.

Or does it stay as a stone in your heart?

Starry Vincent Night

Starry Night is a night that is extremely bright.
Scaring the Darkness, Only if Vincent  was
appreciated, Starry Night would light up their
hearts.

Stars will shine down the sky with joy, Vincent's
starry starry night shows his sealed heart. ONLY
ONLY if everyone understood his work.

Vincent Van Gogh

Starry Night

This is a painting that was made by Vincent Van Gogh.
This picture shows most of Vincent's feelings. He drew this
painting when he was in an asylum. It shows a little town with a church .
It also shows swirling wind, swarming near big yellow balls, seem to be stars.
It shows a hillside and a big tree in the left corner.

I like Vincent's paintings, because they resemble a piece of Van Gogh's life.
For example the  church resembles the fact that Van Gogh's father used to work
at a church, and Vincent's father wanted him to work there too, but Vincent wasn't cut
out for the job. Vincent also was like a unsatisfactory replacement in his parents eyes, because
he had a brother with the same name who died when he was 3 days old. When the 2nd baby
was born (vincent) they thought he was unsatisfactory. They thought that the 1st baby would have brought them more of a future. His parents also sent him away to a different town, because they didn't think he was cut out for anything they wanted. He loved to paint, but no one actually liked it or ever gave them a second
thought. Later on in his life, he cut off his ear lob, because he was so depressed about people not liking his art
works.

I feel really bad for him.. He had to go through so much, his life was filled with sorrows. I can't believe how his own parents treated him. They were  rude.
If he was alive now I would have admired his art works a lot. He was an amazing artist.

Azkaban!!!!!!!!!!!! Magical Reunion to Sirius

I am reading the book Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I love the way Harry gets reunited to his Godfather. It happens when Harry  is in his 3rd year in Hogwarts. Harry has been seeing these wanted posters of a criminal named Sirius Black. He escaped a high-facility base named AZKABAN. Harry is scared of Sirius, because he heard rumors, that Sirius is on the lose and he is going to kill Harry Potter.

Harry and his friends dared to go and look for Sirius. When Ron( harry's best friend ) got pulled under a reaping tree, Harry and Hermione went chasing after. When they got in they saw Sirius and Lupin ( Harry's Dark Arts Teacher) Lupin and Sirius seemed to be good friends. Harry was confused until Sirius broke it to him that he is his godfather. This is Harry's only family.

I thought this part in the book was really touching, because it shows that even if your parents died you still have family. Family and friends.

RED PYRAMID AND THE MAGIC ( Spoiler )

I have read the book Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan . It is an amazing kind of book , but instead of Greek mythology it has Egyptian Hieroglyphs. It is about a boy and his sister, who find out that there parents were magicians. The kids find out that they are the most powerful wizards when they are together. But when they are separated they don't have so much of a magical impact. They also meet a bunch of Egyptian gods. They
find out that their lovely cat is actually a cat god.
The boy and girl have to face this evil monster god within the 5 days they have. On the fifth day the monster god is at its strongest hour. That's when he has the most power than everyone. On the fifth day it was his birthday. Last time on his birthday he made a huge sand storm that made the Sahara desert. But at that time the boy's and girl's parents saved the world from ending,  now  its there turn to fight it. The monster came from an old tomb, that the boys dad opened, and now the dad's soul is trapped in it.
I won't spoil it anymore now you guys better find the ending. Remember magic never ends in books.

Halo as We Knew It

I read the book Halo The First Strike over the winter break. It was really amazing, with all the Science fiction.
I love the way the author "Karen Traviss" actually made you feel like you are in the story. The way she writes make it feel real. She describes the setting extremely well. She describes every tiny aspect of what's going on in the setting. This is one of the reasons why I thought this book was different from others.
"Even if the city is smashed to rubble, there was still a decent living to be made from ferrying UNSC..."(pg33) This sentence shows how the city is right after the war. It explains that the whole city turned into a rust yard, and everyone in the city are taking it normal.
I really like the way she uses her words. It makes it feel like you're in the scene. I love the way she wrote when
the characters were in war. She said how the commander waved the green long flag with a symbol of a spartan helmet. She also said how the characters were knifing and riding there vehicles  .  She also explained how the plane was flying. It was "swarming in the air spinning in twist and turns getting attacked down, still trying to survive. " I thought this book was amazing.
