Dreams Hold fast to dreams For if dreams die Life is a broken-winged bird That cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren field Frozen with snow. Langston Hughes This poem is about dreams, obviously, it shows how dreams can be forgotten, and when you lose your dreams you can be in big trouble. This poem shows that you should stick to your dreams and never give them up. You have to be determined. I liked this poem, because of this reason that it explains what dreams mean to a person. I liked how the poet compared dreams dying to a broken winged bird. He also compared the poem to snow and the cold. I really thought this poem was interesting. |

What is a poem?
Poetry is like a bird singing
under the falling sky. The bird is
showing it's feelings with no one
to stop it. Poetry is like birds flying
together, Poetry shows freedom and brings unison.

Dead Dream Poem
What Happens to a Dead Dream?
Does it get buried in a grave, or does it
have a heart attack like an average citizen?
Does it have a soul, or does it have a future?
Maybe it just disappears into the night sky
like a white feather.
Or does it stay as a stone in your heart?
Starry Vincent Night
Starry Night is a night that is extremely bright.
Scaring the Darkness, Only if Vincent was
appreciated, Starry Night would light up their
hearts.
Stars will shine down the sky with joy, Vincent's
starry starry night shows his sealed heart. ONLY
ONLY if everyone understood his work.

Vincent Van Gogh
Starry Night
This is a painting that was made by Vincent Van Gogh.
This picture shows most of Vincent's feelings. He drew this
painting when he was in an asylum. It shows a little town with a church .
It also shows swirling wind, swarming near big yellow balls, seem to be stars.
It shows a hillside and a big tree in the left corner.
I like Vincent's paintings, because they resemble a piece of Van Gogh's life.
For example the church resembles the fact that Van Gogh's father used to work
at a church, and Vincent's father wanted him to work there too, but Vincent wasn't cut
out for the job. Vincent also was like a unsatisfactory replacement in his parents eyes, because
he had a brother with the same name who died when he was 3 days old. When the 2nd baby
was born (vincent) they thought he was unsatisfactory. They thought that the 1st baby would have brought them more of a future. His parents also sent him away to a different town, because they didn't think he was cut out for anything they wanted. He loved to paint, but no one actually liked it or ever gave them a second
thought. Later on in his life, he cut off his ear lob, because he was so depressed about people not liking his art
works.
I feel really bad for him.. He had to go through so much, his life was filled with sorrows. I can't believe how his own parents treated him. They were rude.
If he was alive now I would have admired his art works a lot. He was an amazing artist.
